Reginald William Winchester (Chester) Wilmot was an Australian broadcaster, war correspondent and historian. Wilmot was an ABC war correspondent in North Africa, Syria, Greece and New Guinea. From May 1944, Wilmot covered the D-Day operation and British action in the Western European theatre for the BBC. He died in a plane crash off the coast of northwest Italy 10 January 1954.
