Details

Thomas Rainsford (Tom) Bavin was a lawyer and politician. Bavin was appointed Edmund Barton's private secretary in 1901 and served both Barton and Alfred Deakin. He was Deakin's co-correspondent to the London Morning Post (1907-11). Bavin later entered state politics and was premier of New South Wales (1927-30).
