Zara Eileen Gowrie (née Pollok) was the wife of Sir Alexander Gore Arkwright Hore-Ruthven, 1st Earl of Gowrie, Governor-General of Australia (1936-1945), Governor of South Australia (1928-1934), and Governor of New South Wales (1935-1936). Zara was born at Lismany, Galway, Ireland in 1879. She married Gowrie on 1 June 1908 at St George's, Hanover Square, London.
